Camden Fort Meagher

Camden Fort Meagher is internationally recognised as being “One of the finest remaining examples of a classical Coastal Artillery Fort in the world”. For almost 400 years, the fort played a key role as a strong strategic position for the defence of Ireland, the west coast of England and Wales. 65% of the fort is located underground in a labyrinth of tunnels and chambers. Spike Island

In the last 1300 years, Spike Island has been host to a 6th century Monastery, a 24 acre Fortress, the largest convict depot in the world in Victorian times and centuries of island homes. The island’s rich history has included monks and monasteries, rioters and redcoats, captains and convicts and sinners and saints. Today the island is dominated by the 200 year old Fort Mitchel. This star shaped fortress became a prison holding over 2300 prisoners. Take the scenic ferry ride from Kennedy Pier, Cobh, and enjoy a fully guided tour of their island and fortress. Fota Wildlife Park

A trip to Fota Wildlife Park is an ideal way to start your family holiday.  The Park’s core values of conservation, education, research and entertainment have ensured that they are able to foster greater public understanding of the threats to plant and animal habitats. Camp Rock

Our Camp Rock Kids Club runs during school holidays. For the summer months it will be on during July & August, for children aged between 5 and 12 years. Our club coordinators, along with our Panda mascot, take the kids every morning at 10am for water games & activities in our leisure centre, followed by arts & crafts and others games until 12:30pm every day. Then each evening, we provide a movie night from 7pm until 8:45pm. This gives parents a chance to enjoy a relaxing meal.

It wouldn’t be a family holiday without a trip to the seaside! Being located along the Wild Atlantic Way means we are very fortunate to be surrounded by a number of blue flag beaches. Visit Rocky Bay, Inch Beach, Fountainstown or Garryvoe which are all located nearby. These are ideal spots to enjoy blue skies, sunshine and even a spot of surfing!
